TORONTO (AP) — The Liberal Party has won the federal election in Canada, culminating a process marked by U.S. President Donald Trump threats on a trade war and of making the country the 51st American state.

Carney, who won a rousing victory on Monday night, has jabbed, jabbed, jabbed Trump all the way to the nation’s top office. Hardly a day passed on the campaign that Carney didn’t smush Trump’s nose, using that strategy to unite Canadians behind him.
