This is a question being asked by millions of Americans on both sides of the metaphorical tracks. Although they occupy opposite ends of the political spectrum, President Donald Trump and, more recently, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic candidate for the mayor of New York City, have both spoken about people who feel disenfranchised and dispossessed.

Finally, on Monday evening, hours before Election Day, Mr. Trump made it official.

In his Truth Social post, Trump echoed the same theme, writing that, “a vote for Curtis Sliwa (who looks much better without the beret!) is a vote for Mamdani.”
