A "very dangerous and explosive" brush fire has sparked in the Runyon Canyon area in the Hollywood Hills, prompting evacuations for some residents, firefighters said. The Sunset Fire was first reported just after 5:30 p.

Mandatory evacuations were ordered for the Sunset Fire, which was estimated at 10 acres. The evacuation zone is for Laurel Canyon Boulevard on the west; to Mulholland Drive on the north; to the 101 Freeway on the east. down to Hollywood Boulevard on the south.

The new blaze lit up near Runyon Canyon, which is in the vicinity of iconic Los Angeles locations and tourist destinations. No homes were said to be damaged.
