The resolution also needs to be approved by the NFLPA, the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), and “the relevant Olympic authorities to implement rules governing the participation of NFL players in flag football”.

The vote at the spring meetings in Minnesota on Tuesday authorized the league to negotiate safety provisions and scheduling logistics with the NFL Players Association.

NFL players are going to get the chance to try out for the Olympic flag football team, but that doesn’t mean they are guaranteed a spot on the LA28 roster.
