Nigeria have pulled out of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya on Monday, according to their captain William Troost-Ekong and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Super Eagles and officials have boarded their aircraft to depart Libya for Nigeria following a botched Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match

The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has confirmed that they are in touch with the Nigerian Mission in Libya, over the stranded Super Eagles players. The Nigerian players and coaches has been held hostage at the Al Abraq Airport over 15 hours after arrival in Libya.
