New York City Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker has tendered his resignation a day after Zohran Mamdani’s election victory. The outgoing FDNY head said the job, which he held since August 2024, had been the “honor of a lifetime.

Final New York City Board of Elections tallies showed over 735,000 check-ins in the early voting period from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2. In 2021, the last time the city elected its mayor, over 169,000 people cast their ballots during early voting, four times less than in 2025.
