"The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. for western and central Massachusetts," says the National Weather Service.

Tornado warnings have been issued just across the Georgia state line, with severe thunderstorm warnings affecting the northwestern parts of the Peach State.

Isolated storms may be capable of producing gusty, damaging winds as well as hail. Heavy rain could also lead to localized minor flooding.
