Newly released bodycam footage appears to show New York corrections officers fatally beating a handcuffed inmate at a state prison. The inmate, 43-year-old Robert Brooks, was pronounced dead on 10 December, the morning after the incident took place at the Marcy Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is scheduled to speak at 12 P.M. ET following the fatal beating of an inmate at a prison outside Syracuse.

The videos show multiple officers kicking and punching Robert Brooks, a prisoner serving a 12-year sentence, as his hands are cuffed behind his back.

James' office has been investigating the death of Robert Brooks for several weeks, and her office released the body-worn camera footage from the officers involved in a Dec. 9 incident at Marcy Correctional Facility that led to Brooks' death.
