The Ravens defense was solid at the start of Sunday night's loss. Baltimore held Allen to 65 yards passing over his first four offensive drives. He finished with 394, however. Allen is the reigning MVP, and he made some incredible throws down the stretch, but Baltimore's defense didn't make it hard enough.
On Monday night, Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton organized a players-only dinner for the Ravens’ defense. Whether it was a response to their blunders in Buffalo or preordained in the week’s schedule matters less than what they got out of having everybody in the same room less than 24 hours after falling to 0-1.
"He's iconic, I think in Baltimore football history, you know, and so respect that and admire that and still keep in touch with him," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "Except not this week."
