A former Leavenworth teacher was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison after he was found guilty of sex crimes involving children.

Thomas Joseph Brandlehner was convicted on Oct. 9 in the Superior Court of Fayette County of multiple charges, including child molestation and sexual exploitation of children, and sentenced to 139 years in prison followed by one year of probation.

The 48 year old was serving a 29-year sentence for a string of horrific crimes, including a confession that he tried to rape a fan's baby.

A Taylorsville resident accused of sexual abuse and extorting a child through social media has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.

Dennis Sullivan was convicted on nine counts, including statutory rape. He was subsequently sentenced to a prison term of 150 to 210 years.
