The U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a boat loaded with more than 100 migrants near Florida on Monday, officials said.

Scores of people were taken to Haiti earlier this week after a Coast Guard cutter intercepted them off the Florida Keys.

The sailboat was traveling between Cuba and Cay Sal Bank in the Bahamas, about 50 miles southeast of the Middle Keys city of Marathon, when it was spotted last Tuesday by a Coast Guard airplane crew and a Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations crew, according to a Coast Guard statement.

Over 100 migrants were sent back to Hatiti after the Coast Guard said crews caught them trying to enter the country illegally on a boat about 50 miles from Florida.
