A fire that broke out on Tuesday morning quickly spread through the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles due to high winds and very dry conditions.

At least two people have been killed as a trio of fast-growing wildfires near Los Angeles destroyed hundreds of buildings, scorched hillsides and prompted officials to order some 70,000 people to evacuate their homes.

30,000 people have been told to evacuate their homes as firefighters battled the wildfires, which were spreading fast due to high winds.
