CLEVELAND, Ohio - Firefighters extinguished a blaze Wednesday at the RainForest exhibit at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Animals and staff were not hurt, said a spokeswoman for the zoo. The fire is at the exterior of the RainForest exhibit, located on Wildlife Way, according to the Cleveland fire division’s social media page.

CLEVELAND — Fire crews are responding to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's Rainforest for a blaze that crews say appears to be at the exterior of the exhibit. The Cleveland Division of Fire posted on social media that a "2nd Alarm" was struck in order to provide extra companies for water relay.

The Cleveland Fire Department responded to a fire at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Wednesday afternoon. According to a press release via Facebook, workers cutting metal with a torch accidentally ignited vegetation on the outside part of the RainForest exhibit,

The former Rainforest exhibit, which has been under construction since last October, caught on fire. Cleveland Fire shared in a tweet on Wednesday that the fire was accidental.
