The Pittsburgh Penguins could be moving on from two-time All-Star goaltender Tristan Jarry. The club announced Wednesday it is placing Jarry on waivers.

The Pittsburgh Penguins placed veteran goaltender Tristan Jarry on waivers Wednesday. Jarry, 29, is 8-8-4 with a 3.31 goals-against average and an .886 save percentage in 22 games this season.

The Penguins suffered their third straight loss on Tuesday, January 14th, falling 4-2 to the Seattle Kraken at PPG Paints Arena. Despite a strong effort throughout the game, the Penguins were unable to overcome the Kraken’s potent offense and ultimately fell short in their bid to break the losing streak.

Jamie Oleksiak and Eeli Tolvanen scored 49 seconds apart in the third period to erase a one-goal deficit and rally the Seattle Kraken past the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2.

The decision comes 18 months after the club signed Jarry to a five-year deal with an average annual value of $5.375 million.
