Wounded journalists in bloodied clothes waited for help on the floor of Haiti's General Hospital after it was attacked by gangs a day before Christmas Day.

Haiti’s online media association said two reporters were killed and several others were wounded in a gang attack on Tuesday on the reopening of Port-au-Prince’s biggest public hospital.

Two journalists and a police officer died and at least seven others were wounded in the shooting before the reopening of a hospital wing in Port-au-Prince.

The Christmas Eve attack added to an avalanche of bad news for Haiti, which was also battling damaging floods in the northern region of the country on Tuesday.
