The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating after a Mexican navy ship crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge leaving two people dead and over a dozen injured. Officials said they are still waiting for Mexican authorities to give them permission to go on board the ship and figure out what they can gain from looking at evidence.

The Cuauhtémoc remains docked off Pier 37 as work crews shore up the ship’s three splintered masts before it taken to a nearby salvage yard.

Officials from the NTSB were in Manhattan Monday, May 19 investigating the scene of Sunday's ship crash into the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River.
