Uncommon May nor'easter to bring rain, snow

Monday will be well below seasonal in Northern California as light rain and snow could be expected in parts of the region.
Between tonight and Friday morning, a couple inches of snow are possible for the Adirondack High Peaks and summits of the central Green Mountains. Southern summits (Killington Peak, Okemo, Stratton, Mount Snow) may pick up 2 to 4 inches, or locally higher.
Snow showers with possible thunder are predicted in Salt Lake City, with variable accumulation throughout the week.
The Valley will stay dry with temperatures in the mid 70s. The entire region will be sunny Wednesday through Friday.
The Northwest San Juan Mountains, Southwest San Juan Mountains, Gore and Elk Mountains/Central Mountain Valleys, Grand and Battlement Mesas, West Elk Mountains, and Sawatch Mountains. Those areas are looking at snow accumulations of 5-10 inches and wind gusts up to 45 mph.
Rainfall totals will mostly finish between 1-1.5". Snowfall in the mountains will range from 1 to 3 inches below 3500 feet and 3-6 inches higher up.

After today's rainy weather, temperatures will warm up and the skies should clear in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
