Winter Weather Advisory update: High-population area added, highest snow upped to 8 inches
The reason Grand Rapids and Flint are now in the winter weather advisory is because some freezing rain accumulation is also being indicated on the southern edge of the all-snow area, combined with a few inches of snow.
Light snow will arrive this afternoon with an inch of accumulation likely. Winds will gust 35 to 40 miles per hour later today.
