Tarik Skubal’s regular season was unforgettable, filled with dominant performances, strikeouts and wins. His postseason will be remembered for one inning and one pitch.

In his previous two postseason outings – both wins for Detroit – Skubal had pitched a combined 13 scoreless innings, walking one and striking out 14 batters. In Game 5, he ran that scoreless inning streak up to 17 innings.

Cleveland will meet New York in the AL Championship Series, setting up another playoff matchup between two teams that have crossed paths six previous times in October.
