Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams has decided to retire from the NFL. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Williams' agent informed the Chargers this week that he’s retiring from the league at the age of 30.

Wide receiver Mike Williams is retiring, according to ESPN and NFL Network. Williams is 30 years old. The Chargers chose Williams No. 7 overall in 2017 out of Clemson. He grew to be one of the best jump-ball winners in the NFL. Even when Williams wasn't open, he was open.
The sooner the better for the Chargers with Williams, though. Hortiz and Co. brought him back in an effort to upgrade the weapons around Herbert. And while the players have a past connection going back years, live reps in camp and for most of it would probably be ideal.
Williams plans to retire from the NFL, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Chargers had placed Williams on the active/PUP list Monday, but the wideout has now elected to step away from the game as a player.
