President Donald Trump’s border czar is pledging to make sanctuary cities a primary target for federal immigration enforcement following the shooting of a border patrol agent in New York City over the weekend.

The Trump administration will send additional immigration agents to New York, blaming the city’s sanctuary policies for a shooting by an undocumented migrant that left an off-duty federal customs officer seriously wounded.

The Trump administration is lashing out at New York City officials over their sanctuary policies. The criticism comes after two men living in the U.S. illegally were arrested in connection with the nonfatal shooting of an off-duty Customs and Border Protection officer at a park.
