A significant winter storm was in progress in south Alabama on Tuesday, and the National Weather Service said it’s possible some areas could get 8 inches of snow before it’s over. The weather service said this has the potential to be a “historic” winter storm for south Alabama and has increased possible snow totals for south Alabama,

The state has seen two outbreaks of winter weather that impacted north and south Alabama with several inches of snow.
