After facing a recent slump in sales for a number of its products, PepsiCo (PEP) is switching gears in an attempt to win back customers who are fed up with the company for engaging in a controversial practice in retail.

Frito-Lay's parent company, PepsiCo, said it's adding chips back to bags after shrinkflation wound up costing the company when consumers left Lay's and Doritos on shelves.

PepsiCo will put more chips in some Tostitos and Ruffles bags to bring back customers who are tired of higher prices with skimpier bags.

PepsiCo said in its latest earnings call it is adding more product to some chip products including Tostidos and Doritos in an effort to provide more value for customers.
