Jeremiah Smith made a 56-yard reception that sealed Ohio State's win over Notre Dame in the national title game, but Emeka Egbuka noticed something that set the play up.

In his first season with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jeremiah Smith has taken the college football world by storm. The freshman put up eye-popping numbers for the Buckeyes this season. He led the Big Ten with 14 receiving touchdowns and also amassed 1,226 receiving yards this season. Both of those marks are freshman records.

With the game on the line and Ohio State needing a first down on 3rd and 11 to ice the victory, Smith came up big, hauling in a 56-yard pass to seal it. Smith had five catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in the game, clinching the record for most receiving yards by a true freshman in the Big Ten in a single season.
