Met Eireann have warned that Storm Ashley could bring dangerous conditions and significant damage - it's set to land in Ireland tomorrow and they have issued weather warnings

First named storm of the season set to make landfall on Sunday, with high winds expected amid high spring tides

Ireland is on storm alert with Met Eireann monitoring an incoming low-pressure system that could become our first named storm of the season. It has also issued an urgent, rare weather advisory.

Met Éireann has extended its status orange weather to three more counties as Storm Ashley bears down on Ireland. In its latest update, issued this Saturday evening, the forecaster has added Kerry, Leitrim and Sligo to the list of counties which will be most-impacted by 'strong to gale force' winds on Sunday afternoon.

Met Éireann has confirmed that Storm Ashley will hit Ireland late on Sunday and wreak havoc with strong winds and possibly thunderstorms and flooding. The national forecaster has issued a raft of warnings related to the low pressure system which is deepening as it approaches our west coast.

A yellow rain warning is in place across Devon and Cornwall due to Storm Ashley. The Met Office warning, currently in place until midday, includes strong winds and heavy rain, with Dartmoor forecast to be among the worst affected areas It said bus and train services will likely be impacted,
