In Portland, voters agreed to hike the city’s current parks levy by 75% to maintain existing parks and recreation services. Portlanders have long voiced their love for the city's parks and natural areas, but the proposed 75% increase on the levy has sparked backlash.

Voter service locations opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday for the November special election across Oregon and Washington, with polls remaining open until 8 p.m.
