Pravin Lonkar, a dairy owner from Pune, has been arrested for his role in the conspiracy and support of the assassination of NCP politician Baba Siddique in Mumbai. The case includes connections to gang activities and raises further investigations into his brother's alleged criminal ties.

The conspiracy to kill NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was hatched in Pune and shooters were provided with a photo and a flex banner for the target identification, police said on Monday.

In a major breakthrough, Mumbai Police arrested the third accused, 28-year-old Pravin Lonkar, in connection with the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Lonkar, who was apprehended in Pune, is accused of hiring the shooters involved in the assassination.

Two accused in Baba Siddique's murder were arrested from the spot after shooting at the NCP leader outside his office in Nirmal Nagar on Saturday. Another accused, the "prime conspirator", in the murder was arrested on Sunday.

On the occasion of Dussehra on the night of October 12 three attackers shot and killed NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. Two of the three attackers were caught by the crowd on the spot and handed over to the police.

The third accused has been identified as 28-year-old Pravin Lonkar. He allegedly hired shooters for the attack on Baba Siddique.
