The San Diego FC will face defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy this weekend, a team that has failed to win any matches this season.

Lucas began working for San Diego County in 2001, holding jobs as deputy and chief deputy medical examiner, the second-in-command. Perhaps the most high-profile autopsies that Lucas is known for conducting were those of 6-year-old Max Shacknai and 32-year-old Rebecca Zahau in the mysterious Coronado Spreckels mansion case of 2011.

The first match in San Diego FC franchise history was back in February up in Los Angeles against the Galaxy, the defending MLS Cup champions. You may recall SDFC won 2-0, which at the time seemed like a shocking upset.

The Los Angeles Galaxy won the MLS Cup at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson on Dec. 7. Less than three months later, they opened the 2025 season there against expansion San Diego FC. And lost 2-0, ending a 22-game home unbeaten streak. “We didn’t look like a team,” Galaxy coach Greg Vanney said, “that just won the championship.”

San Diego FC announced their presence when they blanked the defending champion Los Angeles Galaxy in their MLS debut on Feb. 22.
