Residents in Santa Cruz County are concerned about fire safety as the reconstruction of a local Cal Fire station has been delayed beyond its expected completion date.

James Collier, a 66-year-old from Boulder Creek, appeared in court for the first time, accused of murdering two friends in the Santa Cruz Mountains last month.
