Day 64 at the New Jersey Department of Corrections Training Academy. Recruits in Academy Class 259 completed OC spray training. After controlled exposure, recruits were required to perform assigned tasks to demonstrate composure, judgment, and the ability to function under stress. New Jersey has joined exclusive company in the launch of a brand new vocational education program. The NJDOC has partnered with the internationally ranked Pratt Institute to bring a fashion-design and workforce-development program to Edna Mahan Correctional Facility. Similar programs also are offered at institutions in Milan, Italy, and London, England.
