SAHARAN DUST | Each year massive dust plumes from the Sahara Desert in Northern Africa (approx. 3.6 million square miles!) get pushed into the Atlantic. Meteorologists are reporting that “a significant, thick Saharan dust plume” is present in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and is briskly moving further towards the eastern Caribbean islands.
